Renew Rubber started by offering a resoling service for climbing gyms. We also placed recycling bins for shoes that were considered beyond repair, so they could be recycled into new products such as gym mats.

However, we noticed that many shoes thrown into these recycling bins were still in good condition. With a simple repair or resole, they could easily have a second life.

That realization led to the idea of REfurbished climbing shoes:  collecting used shoes, restoring them, and putting them back into circulation!

In this way, we aim to reduce the waste stream of climbing shoes and raise awareness that climbing shoes can have multiple lives.
